Last week's torrential rains resulted in a significant build-up of debris and rubbish along the shoreline. On Saturday (27th), the BPS Global Group volunteer team visited Yuen Chau Tsai in Tai Po to clean up the coastal waste. We also tackled the debris on the shallows, sorting and recycling the collected waste.

The clean-up effort yielded a variety of marine debris, and hard-to-decompose plastic waste such as styrofoam and plastic bottles, which pose serious threats to biodiversity, food chains, and aquatic ecosystems.

Under the guidance of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), the event also enriched BPS colleagues' understanding of the unique architectural heritage of Tai Po and Yuen Chau Tsai.

The former government official residence, now the Yuen Chau Tsai Nature Environmental Research Centre, is over a century old and recognised as a statutory monument in Hong Kong. Since ceasing to serve its original function, it has been under WWF's stewardship for conservation and education.

BPS Global Group is deeply committed to environmental sustainability and community involvement, continually striving to enhance environmental awareness among our employees and affirm our resolve in fulfilling our corporate social responsibilities. We are dedicated to persistently engaging in green initiatives to contribute towards environmental conservation.
