To meet the growing demands of air travel, Hong Kong International Airport continues to enhance its core infrastructure. In a major step forward, the Airport Authority has launched a critical upgrade project, partnering with BPS Global and Fook Tin Group to deploy a next-generation baggage conveyor system at the check-in counters of Terminal 1. The initiative aims to further improve operational efficiency and elevate the passenger experience.

This upgrade integrates precision technology with advanced engineering design. Fook Tin Group has introduced high-accuracy digital weight sensors, which are seamlessly paired with BPS Global's state-of-the-art conveyor technology. The new system allows passengers to place their luggage with greater ease while enabling real-time, highly accurate data collection. This innovative approach not only streamlines the check-in process but also enhances the overall service quality for both passengers and the airport.

To ensure uninterrupted airport operations during the upgrade, the project is being implemented in carefully planned phases, with all construction work scheduled exclusively during late-night non-operating hours. This reflects the project team's strong commitment to maintaining seamless operations at this critical aviation hub. The upgraded system is expected to be fully operational by early 2026.
