BPS Global Group has commenced a restroom refurbishment project at a major shopping mall in Tseung Kwan O in Hong Kong in March 2026. The scope of works includes the male and female restrooms, two accessible restrooms and the connecting corridor areas, covering a total project area of approximately 1,700 square feet. BPS is responsible for detailed design development and refurbishment fit-out works, with the objective of enhancing both the functionality of the facilities and the overall spatial experience.
The design adopts natural stone as the primary finishing material, complemented by a streamlined design concept that creates a contemporary and refined aesthetic. As part of the spatial strategy, the restroom cubicles are arranged diagonally to create a more harmonious layout while optimising the use of available space. This configuration also provides appropriate locations for status indicators and circulation guidance, achieving a balance between visual appeal and practical usability.
One of the key challenges of the project lies in its tight construction schedule. The works must be completed within a 90-day timeframe, with delivery required before the end of May. As the project is located within a fully operational shopping mall, certain construction activities, including drainage works, must be carried out outside mall operating hours to avoid disruption to daily operations. At the same time, strict safety and compliance requirements are being observed throughout the project to ensure responsible and smooth execution.
In addition, several finishing materials involve extended lead times, requiring close coordination with the client to ensure timely delivery in line with the construction schedule. The project team is also maintaining ongoing communication with the mall’s property management, design, safety and leasing departments to ensure effective coordination and steady progress across all aspects of the works.
The project was officially launched following a traditional commencement ceremony held by the client on 4 March this year, marking the start of construction. With careful planning and professional project management, the BPS team will drive the project forward efficiently and ensure completion in accordance with the established schedule.
